Precautions to be taken before having sex in the water

Sex on the beach seems to be one of the most recurring fantasies in the summer, whether on the sand or in the water. But besides being caught, there are other risks to avoid.

During the summer months, the beach replaces the fantasy of the floor in front of the fireplace that thrived during the winter. The problem is that, in addition to being a public place — since not everyone has the money to take a vacation on a desert island or have a swimming pool at home — the beach involves a series of factors that must be taken into account, and that can go wrong.

In theory everything is perfect, the worst is even in practice. It starts with sand, which affects the intimate areas and can even break the condom, and ends up in the water, where thousands of bacteria are silently waiting.

Thinking about the moments when libido speaks louder, El Mundo spoke with Eduardo Cubillo Rodríguez and the gynecologist gave seven tips for everything to go well, of which we highlight five:

Pay attention to water quality

It is known that sea water is good for the nasal and oral mucosa, and the truth is that it has a similar effect on the vaginal mucosa, but these properties are no longer effective when the water is cloudy. The bacteria in that water can cause infections and therefore it is advisable to wash yourself well when you leave the sea and use a neutral soap. That is, opt for blue flag beaches.

Watch out for pools (I)

Pool water also favors urinary infections, especially if the water does not have the correct amount of chlorine. Unfortunately, unless you're a pool connoisseur, there's no way to know if it has enough chlorine in it or not.

Watch out for pools (II)

As if not knowing if the water has enough chlorine isn't enough, you also need to make sure it doesn't have too much chlorine. Excess chlorine can lead to the appearance of fungi that irritate the genital area. Add to that the dampness of bathing suits and a paradise for fungus is created. What you should do is change your bathing suit or clean yourself well with a clean towel.

pull by imagination

Water is a terrible lubricant and has the power to almost completely eliminate the body's natural lubrication. That is, instead of facilitating penetration, it makes it difficult. The best thing is to give free rein to your imagination and opt for other things.

Don't forget the condom

The risk of being caught is not an excuse for not using a condom. The truth is that putting a condom in water is not within everyone's reach and the friction caused by the lack of lubrication causes it to break easily. The best thing is to put it out of the water, but in this case, make sure you are on a deserted beach.
